The esteemed Kyle Filipowski is featured in the most recent Chronicle profile.
Like others, Filipowski’s second campaign had its ups and downs, but overall, he performed admirably.
He made a good transition from forward to center. He also much matured. His spin move from the previous year was really fast, but he wasn’t always sure when or how to execute it, frequently turning right into guards who were trying to pick his pockets.
He realized that and knew when he could and couldn’t accomplish it.
Sometimes his passing was also astonishingly good. He is intelligent enough to see things that many other players never see, and he is strong enough to zap a ball over the court in a way that not everyone can.
He still struggles more inside the hoop than outside of it. Enters the picture inside his constrained vertical. He can shoot, pass, or drive the three outside.
NBA Filipowski will be a terrific asset for whoever chooses him if he adds rebounding.
